for the 11th Circuit – Florida Bar Board of Governors

I’m running to be your representative on the 11th Circuit Board of Governors because I know what it takes to run a law practice in today’s landscape—and I’m ready to advocate for you.

I began my legal career in probate and family law, and I’ve walked in the shoes of the thousands of Solo and Small Firm attorneys across South Florida. From working in a one-partner firm to founding and growing Vasquez de Lara Law Group—now home to 9 attorneys—I’ve experienced firsthand the day-to-day challenges we face: business development, client management, courtroom advocacy, and everything in between.
These experiences fuel my passion to serve. For over two decades, I’ve been dedicated to public service and active leadership within our legal community. I serve on the Executive Council Board of the General Practice Solo & Small Firm Section of the Florida Bar and am a Past President (2023–2024) and current Board Member of the Coral Gables Bar Association. I also co-chair the Judicial Liaison Committee of the Miami-Dade Florida Association of Women Lawyers (MDFAWL). Since 2004, I’ve served on the boards of the Miami-Dade Bar, where I am currently a Director and Executive Committee Member as well as Chair of the Solo/Small Firm Committee, and the Dominican American Bar Association. In addition, I am an active Member of the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA). As Founder & CEO of the Vasquez de Lara Law Group, and Founder of the Supreme Scholars Foundation (501(c)(3)), my work reflects a continued commitment to empowering families, uplifting our community, and supporting the needs of practicing attorneys. My journey began at the University of Miami School of Law (Class of 2002), and it has shaped my lifelong dedication to service and leadership.
Our circuit needs a voice on the Board of Governors that understands the pressures small firm lawyers face, and that represents the Family Law community—a practice area that remains underrepresented at the statewide level. Right now, there are no lawyers dedicated exclusively to the practice of family law serving on the 11th Circuit Board of Governors. As someone who has practiced family law for over 21 years, I bring insights that will strengthen policy discussions and rule proposals—ensuring that decisions made at the top reflect the reality of our courtrooms and clients.

The first lawyer many Floridians ever meet is a family lawyer—we are often the public’s gateway to the justice system. Our perspective is essential. It’s time that our representation on the Board reflects that.
I humbly ask for your support and your vote. With your trust, I will advocate fiercely and thoughtfully for our profession—and for you.
