Biography:

Vanessa Vasquez de Lara is the Founder and CEO of Vasquez de Lara Law Group, where she leads a dedicated team of family lawyers committed to delivering clarity, compassion, and powerful legal advocacy across our firm’s locations. Since starting her legal career in 2002 and founding the firm in 2011, Vanessa has built a practice rooted in service—helping families navigate divorce, child custody, timesharing, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, and other deeply personal legal matters with confidence and care.

A graduate of the University of Miami School of Law, Vanessa has been consistently recognized for her professional excellence. She has earned the distinction of Super Lawyer (2016–present) and Rising Star (2015), and was honored as a 2020 Pro Bono Champion by Dade Legal Aid. Her legal leadership and insight have made her a trusted voice in the media, including appearances as a featured legal expert on Univision’s Despierta América, the most-watched national morning show on Spanish-language television.

Vanessa’s leadership extends far beyond the courtroom. She is the former President of the Coral Gables Bar Association, Board Member and Co-Chair of the Solo & Small Firm Committee of the Miami-Dade Bar, a Board Member of the Dominican American Bar Association, and an active member of the Family Law Section of the Florida Bar, where she contributes to the Technology, Children’s Issues, and Continuing Legal Education committees. She is also the Founder of the Supreme Scholars Foundation, a nonprofit created in honor of her brother Ricardo “Ricky Supreme” de Lara, which awards scholarships to hardworking students and partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami to provide two-year prepaid college plans for graduating high school seniors.

What truly sets Vanessa apart is her role as a team leader and mentor. She has built Vasquez de Lara Law Group into not just a successful firm—but a supportive, high-performing family. She’s deeply invested in her team’s personal and professional growth, offering continuous training, clear values, and strong collaboration. Outside of her legal career, Vanessa is a proud mom, an author, a fitness enthusiast, and a passionate advocate for personal growth. She and her husband, Julian, are certified foster parents and currently serve as an emergency placement and respite care home for children who enter the foster care system in Miami. A fun fact? Before launching her law firm, Vanessa ran a scrapbooking business—with a physical store and online shop—while raising her babies.
