FOR MEN ONLY: 7 Things You Absolutely Need To Know BEFORE Filing For Divorce in Florida – WATCH VIDEO

Born and raised in Miami, Mary Corbin brings both heart and extensive courtroom experience to every case she handles. She earned her law degree cum laude from Florida International University College of Law, where she was recognized for her excellence in legal writing and oral advocacy. Before that, she graduated summa cum laude from FIU with a degree in Political Science and a minor in Public Relations. She stood out early on as a leader—serving as Vice President of the Moot Court Team and earning multiple academic honors.
Before joining the team of attorneys at Vasquez de Lara Law Group, Mary served for three years as an Assistant State Attorney at the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, managing a high-volume caseload of over 230 active cases and litigating three jury trials to verdict. She conducted expert depositions, developed trial strategies, and argued motions in one of Florida’s most demanding circuits. She was later promoted to Assistant Chief of County Court, where she trained and mentored a class of 50 new prosecutors and helped shape courtroom readiness for young attorneys. Her work included preparing legal arguments, advising on plea negotiations, and overseeing courtroom operations. That experience sharpened her ability to analyze cases quickly, argue persuasively, and think strategically under pressure.
Now at Vasquez de Lara Law Group, Mary focuses exclusively on family law, handling divorce, custody, timesharing, domestic violence, and parental rights cases. She also has trial experience in high net worth divorces and adoptions. She is especially effective in cases involving domestic violence, where her knowledge of the rules of evidence and courtroom procedure allows her clients to feel safe and prepared when it matters most.
Mary is known for her calm and honest approach. She builds trust with clients by helping them understand the key aspects of their case and what to expect—legally and emotionally. Her ability to explain complex matters with clarity, paired with her compassion and litigation background, makes her a powerful advocate for the families she serves.
One case that left a lasting impact on Mary involved a mother with a disabled child facing divorce and relocation. Mary helped the client reach a settlement that protected her family without dragging things through court. It’s cases like these that drive her to do what she does—bringing not just legal strength, but real compassion. She understands that her role goes beyond legal guidance—it’s about being a steady presence during uncertainty. Mary’s approach is rooted in trust and transparency, giving clients the confidence to move forward even when the path ahead feels overwhelming.
At Vasquez de Lara Law Group, Mary lives the values of family, teamwork, and compassion. She treats every client with the same care and respect she would want for her own loved ones. Outside of work, she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and cooking (though she insists baking is not her thing!). She’s a proud Cuban American, fluent in Spanish, and deeply connected to the Miami community she serves across our locations.
