Ex wife playing games with son’s medical bills.

[dropcap type=”circle” color=”#ffffff” background=”#555555″]Q[/dropcap] I currently carry the insurance for my son, and legally my ex wife and I are responsible for half of all medical bills incurred. She is now taking him to the Dr. For various appointments and telling the office staff that she cannot find her insurance card (even though it has been provided to her twice) and asking them to send a bill. The problem is that the bill is coming to me because I am the policy holder, and she is refusing to pay half when we send her the bills for reimbursement. I would prefer not to retain an attorney, but her games are getting old. Any ideas about what to do besides going the legal route? Threatening her with that NEVER works.

[dropcap type=”circle” color=”#ffffff” background=”#ef7f2c”]A[/dropcap] The only thing you can do is ask the court to find her liable for the bills. All you need is a Motion for Contempt of Final Judgment and a short hearing. Unfortunately there is no one else that can enforce that part of the final judgment except the judge.
